Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
How does the CIP unfold for a design team?
Any designer can register for a CIP. Based on the interest forms submitted, the client, together with the Flemish Government Architect, chooses the designers who may submit an offer. If you are chosen to submit an offer, you will receive the award guidelines with all the relevant project information.
You will then be invited to a joint briefing before working out a proposal and presenting your offer to the client and the Flemish Government Architect.
The CIP is intended for smaller projects or spatial vision building (master plans, feasibility studies, etc.).
Participating in the CIP is easy. On the interest form, you only need to fill in the most necessary information.
What assignments are awarded through a CIP?
These can be design assignments (architecture, master planning, landscape design, etc.), but also other public contracts, for example, for project direction or design research in the context of feasibility studies. These assignments fall below the threshold amount for federal contracting authorities (for 2024–25, €143,000 excl. VAT).
When can I express my interest?
A CIP can be launched at any time, there are no set publication dates. After the launch of the CIP, you have on average two weeks to express your interest. New CIPs are announced on our home page, via our newsletter and in our social media feeds.
What should I submit through the interest form?
On the interest form, your first name and surname will suffice, along with the name of your office and your email.
We also ask you to introduce yourself using a presentation document. This consists of 1 page in PDF format that you are free to fill in as you wish. Here you can mention your motivation, possible partners, a web address, etc.
