This project combines the interior renovation of the Sint-Anna church with the concept of converting
churches and adapting these spaces according to the vision and mission of the parish, contemporary
forms of worship and expression of faith, and the integration of art and/or symbols. The project
combines architectural and technical elements with religion and interreligious dialogue, culture and
multiculturalism in Linkeroever (Antwerp).
The work schedule includes but is not limited to the following:
- replacing the electrical underfloor heating throughout the church (church, weekly chapel, sacristy
and other rooms above and below the ground) with a lower-energy heating system
- if necessary, replacing the floor of the church
- conversion of available space in the Sint-Anna-ten-Drieën church, including conversion of the
weekly chapel into a reception and exhibition space
- adapting interior spaces to our vision and mission by means of paintwork and, potentially, certain
architectural changes to the roof, floor and/or walls
- integrating art and/or symbols (monumental or other) to enhance the architecture of the building
and as meaningful elements for passers-by and visitors to the church
- projection of words and images as 21st-century means of communication
