A designer has been appointed for this special learning school for an extension at the Rozenstraat site, also in Reet, via Public Appeal 12. The large grounds in Predikherenhoevestraat are now being used for expansion.
In 2003, a two-level classroom block for secondary education was built on the site, and ten or so years ago, a new single-storey wing for the primary school was also built at the rear of the site.
Today, both schools are again short of space. Part of this project is to make up for part of this shortage of space with a new building of 1200 m². Because the grounds are fairly densely built on with single-storey buildings, there is an urgent need for a master plan with long-term vision. How and where can this be conjured from without eating away too much at the open space for the pupils? This requires thought for the long term, in particular in terms of cleaning up or replacing the single-storey pavilions from the sixties.
Apart from the design for the current extension of 1200m² (phase 1), drawing up a master plan is also required and there is also the possibility that the design for the future extension (phase 2) will be entrusted to the design team.
