The “ ‘t Vestje” special education primary school is located on the old moats in the centre of Lier. The primary school is housed in two single-storey pavilions dating from 1960 on an open, green plot of land. The middle school is housed in the imposing school building dating from the fifties on the other side of Ernest Staaslei. The pavilions of the primary school contain two basic modules, each with three classrooms in a multi-purpose room and an extension with a canteen that also includes one additional classroom and a treatment room. To make up for the lack of space, an additional container classroom has been installed. In total, the primary school currently covers 961m². The school lacks 747 m² of space for which a new building has to be erected on the same site.
