As is stated in its long-term plan, the Team Vlaams Bouwmeester wishes to stimulate reasonable remuneration for competition designs. This remuneration is after all an integral part of the creative work by a design team; it relates to the architect’s core business. For a short time now, when determining the remuneration, account has been taken of the fee for the assignment and the documents that have to be submitted with the tender.
The Team Vlaams Bouwmeester wants to provide greater insight into how the design teams spend their time on competition designs and to this end requests from the design teams records of the time spent. A form is available on the website of the Team Vlaams Bouwmeester where those who submit a tender can fill in the number of hours worked on it. This form has deliberately been kept very limited and can also be filled in retrospectively for past projects. In addition to the Open Call number of the project, we also request the time spent on architecture, stability and technical installations. All the remaining working time can be added together and entered under ‘miscellaneous’. Lastly, we also ask for the remuneration paid by the principal and the type of project (master-plan, master-plan plus execution, school, public building, restoration, collective housing, public space, infrastructure or landscape).
You may enter the name of your design team, but this is not compulsory. In any case, the information will be processed anonymously and the name of the design firm will never be used in any potential public reports.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation and your valuable contribution. For more information you can always contact Stijn.email@example.com.
